Cottage food prouction operation and product ingredients

A "Cottage Food Production Operation" is defined in Chapter 3715 of the Ohio Revised Code to mean, a person, who in the person's home produces food items that are not potentially hazardous foods, including bakery items, jams, jelly, candy, fruit butter, dry herbs, dry seasoning blends, dry tea blends, dried soup mixes, and similar products specified in the rules. These foods must be labeled properly according to set guidelines.

The Freight House takes these guidelines very seriously, and does everything possible to be sure your cottage food production products are prepared in a safe and clean environment, using only high quality and natural ingredients.

All of our products are labeled according to guidelines. Below are a ingredient labels for our regularly sold products. Seasonal products may not be listed below, but the packaging will provide you with a statement of identity, net quantity, ingredient list according to dominance of weight, name of the business, and the statement "This product is home produced".  Any product that may contain allergens will be declared in a statement on the packaging or on the website.

Most of our herbs and botanicals are grown on the homestead. Essential oils, and those herbs and botanicals, not grown on the homestead are purchased from earth friendly producers with the highest of standards.

You will notice that most of our bath and body products have little to no color. The reason for this is that we choose to make our natural products as naturally clean as possible. If, and when you do see color, you can be assured it is either from the essential oil/botanical itself, or is mica which is a natural colorant. We do NOT use artificial color or ingredients. Bath and body products are 100% natural, and in many cases vegan.
