Personal/Group Training

As a Certified Personal Trainer for over 20 years, I have had the pleasure of working with high school sports teams, college athletes, semi-professional athletes, weekend warriors, moms, dads, grandparents, individuals who are medically challenged and have disabilities. I have seen it all, and each brings it's own challenges. This is what constantly feeds my desire to work for the individual, not the masses. Individually designed programs for you, to meet your goals and needs. All ages and abilities can receive personal training.

Personal Training

As a Personal Trainer it is my job to motivate my clients by setting goals and providing feedback and accountability. Strengths and weaknesses will be measured using fitness assessments. These fitness assessments may also be performed before and after an exercise program to measure their client's improvements in physical fitness. With expertise, a trainer will educate clients in many other aspects of wellness besides exercise, including general health and nutrition guidelines.

Proper exercise prescription may result in improved body composition, physical performance, heart condition and health outcomes.

Functional Fitness & Biomechanics

"The key to functional exercise is integration. It's about teaching all the muscles to work together rather than isolating them to work independently."The focus on building a body capable of doing real-life activities in real-life positions, not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealized posture created by a gym machine.

Starting with what many would consider basic gait analysis I examine body movement to take into account a gross assessment of overall movement then detail out the issues causing movement discrepancies. Using advanced muscle testing, joint testing, and analysis I can determine where the start of the issue is and what activation's, movements and corrective exercises will eliminate the issue.

"Functional exercise is much more neurologically demanding."

Fitness for Medical Populations: Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's Disease, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, MS

Improving an individual's level of physical activity and physical fitness can prevent, remediate, improve, maintain, slow the decline of, or lower the risk of impairments of body functions and structures, activity limitations and participation restrictions.

  • Endurance, or aerobic, activities increase your breathing and heart rate. Brisk walking or jogging, dancing, swimming, and biking are examples.

  • Strength exercises make your muscles stronger. Lifting weights or using a resistance band can build strength.

  • Balance exercises help prevent falls

  • Flexibility exercises stretch your muscles and can help your body stay limber
